Visit Fort San Pedro - the first Spanish fort in the Philippines, which was built to keep out marauding pirates. Much of the fort was destroyed during the Second World War, but it was restored in the late 1960's. Today, it has a well-tended garden laid out in the inner courtyard. From the fort, you may walk over to Magallanes Street, where you will find Magellan's cross. Across the street is the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño-the only Catholic basilica in East Asia that houses the image of Sto. Niño, believed to have been left by Ferdinand Magellan.

Apart from these sights, Cebu is a virtual paradise of clear, unspoiled white-sand beaches and islands.
